Australian Red Cross The First National Foundation was established in 2006 with the express purpose of co-ordinating the Group's fundraising efforts. In 2007, the Foundation was proud to announce a partnership with Red Cross in support of its emergency services work in Australia.
The Foundation's ongoing support helps Red Cross provide a range of services to help people affected by emergencies such as the Victorian bushfires and the recent floods in Queensland and New South Wales. Booklets containing practical recovery advice for both adults and children have been developed and produced with Foundation funding and have been widely distributed in affected communities. During emergencies, Red Cross also provides personal support, helps co-ordinate evacuation and recovery centres, and operates the National Inquiry and Registration System to help provide information to people who are concerned about the whereabouts and well being of loved ones.
